Summary

         A room in a bungalow on Dartmoor owned by tow young girl Muriel and Leonora. Muriel is a athletic type and she smoke cigarette. One day police call and ask about an escaped prisoner. But she don't know about anything. Muriel last novel had a ment of prison life. In the garden behind that lilac-bush there's something. They both creep to windows, one looking out of each. She thought ther is cook. They both are scared and Muriel ask about firearms. Shivering both approach right door. Muriel opens back. 

             There's a men(he is thief but Muriel and Leonora doesn't know the truth) his name is Bill Syme. He said that he is convict and Escaped. Muriel believes him. Bill tell Muriel and Leonora his fake story. Leonora offers him Whisky. And she both protect him and Bill Betrayed them. She both save hime from police but the fact is Bill is lier and he Theft. He steal Muriel and Leonora jewellery, platinum watch,all rings,gold chain, pearl necklace. And they also cut the telephone wire. And then the real convict Escaped come but now she can't trust him. 

             The satire is not direct but is made evident with the help of contrasted situations. Most of the people who pose as idealists are the idle rich who dabble on these things to kill time and to get some excitement in their otherwise dull and uninteresting fashionable lives. Such idealists, since they are divorced from reality, often come to grief.
